Coaching Staff

This all-start team is pumped to be a part of history-in-the-making with Warren County's first-ever community competitive swimming team.

Kaitlyn Hilliker

The Sunfish's first Head Coach, Kaitlyn Hilliker, grew up in Middletown, Virginia and swam for Bridgewater College where she double-majored in environmental science and economics. In addition to being the Sunfish Head Coach since 2022, Kaitlyn coaches year-round for Valley Swim Team Phoenix. She helps improve athletes’ abilities to progress swim development using research-backed best practices. Kailtyn focuses on evaluating athletes’ performance on a regular basis and providing insight to them to help improve their strokes and techniques.

Randy Devins

Randy swam and played water polo at Lynchburg College, then pursued graduate studies at Virginia Tech and Shenandoah University. Starting his coaching career in 1967, Randy led four summer league teams and Roanoke Valley teams to championships. His coaching career includes stints with Quantico Devil Dolphins, Randolph-Macon Academy, and currently Valley Swim Team Phoenix since 2016. He has also offered swim lessons to a range of students since 1967.

Ethan Coleman

Coach Ethan has been involved in swim since he was 11 years old. A Division 2 swimmer for Davis and Elkins College, he now coaches year-round with Valley Swim Team Phoenix (where he swam competitively all through high school), as well as an assistant coach at Mountain View High School and Bridgewater College. He has coached national-level swimmers as well as summer league-level swimmers and is excited to join the Warren County swim team this summer.

History

The Warren County Sunfish Swim Team is a summer swim league located in Front Royal, VA, and part of the Shenandoah County Swim League. This team offers children between the ages of 5 to 18 the opportunity to swim competitively in the summer months. The inaugural season for the team was in 2022. Since then, they've created an exceptional commnunity of young swimmers, with the team hitting the League maximum for the roster each year.
